Trenton deserves a leader who knows how to get things done—someone who has actually led, been held accountable, and fought for this city every single day. Rolando Ramos isn't a politician making empty promises. He's a proud Trentonian who has served this community for 26 years and knows firsthand what it takes to turn our city around.

As a Trenton Police Officer and Leader, Rolando dedicated more than two decades to protecting our community, leading specialized units that targeted violent crime and kept our neighborhoods safer.

Rolando led the TAC Unit, Warrant Squad, Street Crimes Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, the SWAT Team, and the Homicide Unit. He also served more than 2 years as Chief of Police on a reservation in Northern California. He knows what it takes to manage teams, create policies, make tough decisions under pressure, and deliver results.

Raised in Trenton, Rolando graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1987. His parents came from Puerto Rico with nothing but hope and hard work. All five of their children graduated from Trenton High and became professionals—proof that the American Dream is possible here.

Rolando isn't running to serve a party or political machine. He's running to serve the people of Trenton. He will work with anyone—left, right, or center—who is committed to making our city better.

For years, Rolando has been speaking truth to power through his "Behind the Badge" column, calling out failed leadership and demanding accountability. He's not afraid to challenge the status quo or stand up for what's right, even when it's unpopular.

For 30 years, our city has been stuck in a cycle of broken promises, failed leadership, and decline.
We've watched as:
• Crime has spiraled out of control, making Trenton one of the most dangerous cities in the country
• Families have been forced to leave because there are no opportunities here
• Basic services like fixing potholes and picking up garbage have been neglected
• Out-of-state investors have bought up our homes and charged sky-high rents while contributing nothing to our community
• Corruption and federal investigations have embarrassed our city again and again
• The same group of politicians have made the same promises every four years—and delivered nothing
Trenton is now considered the worst state capital in the country.
That's unacceptable. And it doesn't have to be this way.

Rolando believes in Trenton's potential. He always has.
He envisions a city that takes advantage of its location between New York and Philadelphia—a place where families can afford to live, where businesses want to invest, where our children can get a great education in safe schools, and where the next generation chooses to stay instead of leaving for better opportunities elsewhere.
He sees a Trenton where:
Streets are safe and clean
Families own homes instead of being exploited by landlords
Our police department is fully staffed and self-supported
Basic government services actually work
Downtown is thriving with local businesses
We're no longer under state oversight
Trenton is a capital that all of New Jersey can be proud of
This isn't a fantasy. It's achievable—if we have the right leader with a real plan.
It’s time to go from Trenton to Triumph!!!
