ACCOUNTABILITY & TRANSPARENCY

Trenton has been plagued by corruption, scandal, and mismanagement for decades. We've endured federal investigations, FBI reports, no-bid contracts, wasteful spending, and a revolving door of officials more interested in serving themselves than serving the people.

The current administration alone has been marked by:

• FBI investigations into the police department

• Constant negative press about corruption

• No-bid contracts enriching connected insiders

• Wasteful spending on contractors who deliver studies instead of solutions

• The Water Works crisis requiring $750 million in repairs due to mismanagement

• Petty political squabbles between the mayor and city council while the city burns

Trentonians deserve better. They deserve a government they can trust, leaders who are held accountable, and transparency in how their tax dollars are spent.

Rolando has spent his entire career being held accountable. As a police officer and supervisor, every decision he made was scrutinized. Every action had consequences. He managed teams, created policies, handled crises, and delivered results—all while being answerable to the community he served.

That's the kind of accountability Trenton needs in City Hall.

The Plan

Zero Tolerance for Corruption

• Implement strict ethical standards for all city officials and employees

• Ensure all contracts follow proper competitive bidding processes

• End the practice of no-bid contracts that enrich connected insiders

• Hold anyone who violates the public trust fully accountable

Transparent Budget and Spending

• Make the city budget easily accessible and understandable to residents

• Provide regular public reports on spending and financial performance

• Explain major expenditures and how they benefit Trentonians

• Stop hiding behind bureaucratic language and excuses

Measurable Goals with Public Accountability

• Set clear, specific, achievable goals for every department and initiative

• Establish metrics to measure progress

• Report regularly to the public on what's working and what's not

• Hold department heads accountable for results, not just effort

End the Political Squabbling

• Work collaboratively with city council to serve Trentonians, not political interests

• Focus on solving problems, not scoring political points

• Put the city before party, personality, or ego

• Demonstrate that adults can work together for the common good

Competent Leadership in Every Department

• Appoint qualified, experienced leaders based on merit, not political connections

• End the practice of hiring unqualified individuals as favors or to pander

• Ensure every department head has the skills and experience to do the job

• Hold leaders accountable for performance

Regular Communication with Residents

• Hold regular town halls and community meetings

• Provide updates on major initiatives and challenges

• Listen to resident concerns and respond substantively

• Make city government accessible and responsive

Stop the Endless Studies

• Trenton has spent millions on consultants and studies that lead nowhere

• The Water Works alone has been studied repeatedly while the crisis worsens

• Rolando will focus on action and implementation, not more reports

• Invest in solutions, not paperwork

Financial Responsibility

• Stop wasteful spending on "feel-good" initiatives that deliver no lasting results

• Invest in long-term programs that create real change

• Ensure every dollar spent delivers value to Trentonians

• Build a sustainable financial foundation for the city's future

Why This Matters

Trust in government is earned through consistent, transparent, accountable action. Trentonians have been lied to, let down, and embarrassed by their leaders for too long. They've watched as politicians make promises during election season, then disappear for four years until the next campaign.

Rolando isn't a politician. He's a public servant who has spent 26 years being held accountable for his decisions and actions. He knows what it means to answer to the people he serves. He knows that leadership isn't about excuses—it's about results.

When Rolando makes a promise, he'll keep it. When he sets a goal, he'll achieve it. And when he falls short, he'll own it and do better.

That's the kind of leadership Trenton deserves.

Let’s go from Trenton to Triumph!!!
